Postpartum Sealing Ceremony

A closing of the bones ceremony provides much needed nurture and healing for new moms any time after birth.

This ancestral tradition can be found in Mexico, called “La Cerada” as well as other countries in Middle and South America. It can even be traced around the globe to Russia and Africa.

The main philosophy behind this technique is to provide comfort and relaxation to new mothers, as well as holding space for them and their emotions; to witness and honor whatever might be show up for them.

Muttersprache Deutsch

Hallo liebe deutschsprachigen Mammas in Charleston.

Sabine is THE REAL DEAL! Kind, sensitive, honest, sweet, and extremely helpful. Day of my delivery she was there and ON IT. She helped me through contractions and different positions when my baby wasn’t 100% head down and got his head to … More go down for me to have a smooth pushing experience. I couldn’t have had the experience I had without her and would HIGHLY recommend 10/10!

Sabine was the most critical part of my birth experience. She guided me through a very positive birth that I will reflect on fondly. Due to my health, I to speed up contractions to give birth sooner and Sabine knew exactly what to do and … More which positions to put me in that were best for me, my baby and my birth goals. Most importantly, Sabine prepared me for the best birth possible by serving as my advisor before the birth. I attended her prenantal yoga classes, she sent me tons of great recommendations and references throughout my pregnancy, which lead to my body and mind being in the best shape possible for birth (acupuncturist, pelvic floor PT, hypnobirthing videos). She was my birth coach, mentor and now friend. Hiring Sabine will be the best decision you make for a positive birth experience!

I cannot recommend Sabine highly enough! Throughout my entire birthing journey, she was an incredibly attentive and compassionate presence. From the start, she provided multiple different ideas and options, always ensuring that I felt empowered … More and informed in my choices.
When my birth plan changed unexpectedly, Sabine was an anchor for me, supporting me both mentally and physically. She helped me navigate each challenge with calmness and care, and I am beyond grateful for her steady guidance. Her ability to adapt to the situation and provide reassurance made all the difference in what could have been a very overwhelming experience.
If you're looking for a doula who will go above and beyond to support you every step of the way, Sabine is the one you want by your side.

    Sabine is a phenomenal doula.
She walked me and my husband through the intricacies of birth in every prenatal visit. Having her at the hospital was also immensely helpful, she completely changed my birth’s narrative solely through her
… More immense wisdom and guidance. It was our first baby so we had no idea what a hospital birth would be like. If it weren't for Sabine, I truly believe we would have had a very unpleasant time navigating labor and the hospital procedure.
I absolutely loved my birth experience. Sabine guided not only me through labor but also my husband. She taught my husband how to best support me throughout the whole thing. I could not have done it without the incredible support of my husband and Sabine. She is amazing and truly loves what she does.

Can’t thank Sabine enough for being part of our pregnancy and delivery! As a first time mom, I was filled with so many emotions and she really helped me navigate them throughout the pregnancy. Having her in the delivery room was such a … More blessing and her knowledge/skill put us all at ease as we worked as a team to bring baby boy into this world. Would recommend her to anyone looking for support both physically and mentally as you embrace the birthing experience.

In March I gave birth to our third child, our first home birth! I birthed my other two children unmedicated at the birth center but this time we wanted to do it at home. When I went to assemble the birth team I knew I wanted a doula with … More experience attending home births. When I met Sabine, she was very friendly, knowledgeable, caring, and best of all she had previously worked as a home birth midwife assistant—I knew then we had a good fit! During our first meeting and subsequent conversations about my birth preferences, Sabine was very receptive to my desires. During the pregnancy Sabine was available to answer questions, and her experience was helpful when we ran into a few things that may have made us pivot away from a home birth (thankfully everything was able to continue according to our original plan). During the home birth she attended to me according to my preferences and helped me immensely! Sabine suggested new positions, performed hip squeezes/counter pressure, rubbed my back, made sure my face and muscles stayed relaxed, suggested new labor positions, managed the tens unit when I was feeling back labor, kept talking to a minimum/kept me in my mental labor zone (that’s how I know I need to be supported during birth), and gently encouraged me throughout the labor! Toward the end when things were handed off to the midwife, Sabine took pictures of the delivery. She made sure my baby established a good latch and helped make sure everything was okay after birth. Sabine was a valuable asset from start to finish and did everything she could to keep me as comfortable as possible! Though this wasn’t my first time birthing unmedicated and breastfeeding, I highly recommend her as part of your birth team wherever you decide to give birth!

10 out of 5 stars! We absolutely love Sabine. Working with her was the best decision that we made for our birth plan.
As a 47 year old woman giving birth for the first time, many people see an age. Sabine saw ME: a healthy woman having
… More a healthy baby. That felt empowering during a time when I didn’t feel empowered. Sabine worked with me and my husband to understand what we wanted. She also educated us about our choices so we could make informed decisions and come up with a birth plan that we were happy and confident with.
Our daughter arrived 2 weeks early, and although we had a birth plan, we were caught off guard.
Sabine was incredible to have with us - she knew what we wanted and was able to effectively communicate to the doctors and nurses what we wanted so we could concentrate on labor.
We can’t control our birth experience. We can be informed, know what we want, know what we don’t want, and call in the best support we can…Sabine is the ideal doula to facilitate it all.

A perfect doula experience with Sabine!
She was so helpful in achieving my dream birth experience; even through last minute changes and obstacles to overcome. My husband and I were so grateful to have her at the hospital with us to guide
… More us through labor and delivery. It would have been very challenging to stay present, focused, and follow my intended plan were she not to have been there for us. The whole journey was a very special experience that could not have gone better and we appreciate the wisdom and assistance along the way.
