Birth is one of the transformational moments a family will go through. Let me be your trusted guide.

PRENATAL SUPPORT

  • Immediate Support through e-mail, phone, or text
  • Choice of 2  one hour prenatal visits at your house or a comprehensive 4-hour childbirth education class (group setting)
  • Guidance in creating your personalized birth pan
  • Assistance with processing fears and anxieties

LABOR SUPPORT

  • Holding space with a calming presence during continuous labor and birth support
  • Guide your partner on how they can best support you during labor
  • Support for navigating comfort measures throughout labor
  • Use of essential oils for aromatherapy
  • TENS unit for lower back pain
  • Photograph as I am available – professional pictures
  • Always on call – only 4% of babies are born on their due dates. So please call me when it’stimeto go

POSTPARTUM

  • Immediate support after baby is born – honoring the “Golden Hour” for the new family
  • Postpartum visit within 2-5 days to assess mommas well-being and breastfeeding progress

Childbirth Education

Experience Childbirth class Differently
This isn’t your average childbirth class. As a yoga teacher with a deep belief in the natural, instinctive power of birth, I’ve created a unique approach.
What You’ll Gain:
Empowerment: Learn natural coping mechanisms like breathing techniques, meditation, and affirmations, even if you plan for a medically-assisted birth.
Prenatal Yoga: Gentle movements to strengthen, relax, and prepare your body.
Understanding: Explore both the natural and medical aspects of childbirth.
Class Options:
Free for Birth Doula Clients: Participate in a group class in lieu of prenatal visits.
Free Sisterhood small group through Seacoast Church. Private Class: Personalized instruction for $150.

Prenatal Yoga

Bi-weekly offering to support and nourish the body, mind, and spirit in pregnancy and preparation for birth. You will prepare yourself for the best possible pregnancy, and birthing experience by focusing on breath work, relaxation, muscle toning, and stretching. Encouraged to connect with your baby and savor this special time in life. Share this time and be supported by your tribe of pregnant mommas.  (No experience is necessary for this gentle class. Participants should be in their second or third trimester and be cleared by their midwife or OB before enrolling.)

Breastfeeding Basics

Lactation support class to best momma prepare for breastfeeding.  Learn about the basics of breastfeeding, including a proper latch, positioning, and milk supply. Aimed at building confidence and a start into a successful breastfeeding journey. 

Key points about lactation classes:
  • Focus on technique:

    The primary goal is to teach proper latch and positioning techniques to ensure effective milk transfer and minimize discomfort for both mother and baby. 

     
  • Educating on milk supply:

    Classes discuss how to establish a good milk supply, identify signs of sufficient feeding, and manage issues like engorgement. 

     
  • Addressing concerns:

    Lactation consultants can answer questions about common breastfeeding challenges like sore nipples, mastitis, and returning to work while breastfeeding. 

     
  • Partner involvement:

    Many classes encourage partners to attend to learn how to support the breastfeeding mother and understand the process.

Benguk Belly Binding

Benefits of Belly Binding
    •    Provides postural support for the torso and organs as they return to pre-pregnancy position
    •    Supports and assists abdominal wall healing and diastasis recti recovery
    •    Supports the body’s natural spine and posture realignment post birth
    •    Constant pressure on the torso and abdomen hastens healing by reducing water, fat and air in the tissue and cells
    •    Stabilizes loose ligaments
    •    Helps to prevent and relieve lower back aches and strains

Closing Ceremony

Closing the Bones is a traditional postpartum massage ritual with roots in various cultures worldwide, including Mexico, South America, North Africa, and Russia. These rituals often involve:
Massage: Using scarves to massage the mother’s body.
Wrapping: Tightly wrapping the mother’s body with scarves.

The Ritual:
The ritual begins with gentle rocking of the entire body using rebozos, and finally, the mother’s body is tightly wrapped with seven rebozos.
Benefits:
This ritual is designed to accelerate and enhance the postpartum healing process.
Physical Healing:
Improves circulation, stimulating blood flow.
Promotes lymphatic drainage. Enhances the movement of joints, muscles, tissues, and fluids.
Supports hormonal balance.
Boosts the immune system
Tones muscles and tissues.
Emotional & Spiritual Healing:
Provides a safe and nurturing space for rest and emotional processing.
Allows for the honoring and release of emotions.
Offers a sense of closure and helps the mother transition into her new role. Supports healing from trauma, loss, or shock.
